Welcome to Glamcar incorporating Campers2Go
Nestled in the beautiful Vale of Belvoir just a few miles from Grantham and the A1, where the counties of Lincolnshire, Leicestershire and Nottinghamshire converge, Glamcar is a family run business specialising in hiring VW T2 Campervans.
If you are looking for a Volkswagen Campervan for a short break or holiday hire we have just what you are looking for. A lot of our customers are thinking about buying their own van and want to hire one first to see if they will really enjoy it - no one has yet come back with anything other than a smile on their face!
Our vans are equipped with just about everything you need apart from your bedding, clothes and food! All gas is supplied, along with pots, pans, cutlery, tea towels, bin bags and more and of course each van has a bottle opener for that all important glass of wine at the end of a relaxing day.
Choose from either our traditional 1970s Type 2 VW campervans or combine the quirky style of the T2 with up to date reliability in our modern Brazilian made vans which benefit from a more powerful engine combined with improved fuel consumption and a stylish contemporary interior.
Campervan hire for a weekend, week or longer.... Trailer hire daily, or longer.... We will try to accommodate whatever you need. Our VW campervans and trailers are fully equipped, and serviced and ready to be used and enjoyed. We will spend as long as it takes to make sure that you are fully briefed on how everything operates and feel confident to drive and handle the vehicles and trailers.
A few suggestions before you drive away -
We strongly recommend that you plan your route to avoid motorways at all costs, VW campervans are all about enjoying a relaxed dive through the back roads. 50MPH is a comfortable speed for the van and the driver and on a motorway it can be very boring at that speed whereas 50MPH on an 'A' road can be very exhilarating and great fun as it should be and you will reach your destination just as quickly.
You will find driving a campervan to be a little more tiring than a modern vehicle, we have vast experience of driving campervans and a journey of 150 to 180 miles in a day will take about 5 hours, after which the driver and the campervan will be more than ready for a rest until the following day.
Try not to plan a journey that involves driving at night, the headlights are just about adequate but nothing like a modern car and the driving position means that the headlights from on coming vehicles can dazzle you.
